Large Global Hotel Chain Chooses Ubertal Ovela AIOps Platform
Introduction
Our client is world’s largest budget hotel chain. It was opened in 1974 and since then it has more than 2,300 hotels around the world. The daily traffic goes up to more than 100K.
PMS system has been supporting all information including current status, housing resources, booking, check in, finance and accounting. Through the CRS system, the hotels can book all member hotels, or franchise hotels around the world in real time and control all channels effectively.
Challenges
In the PMS system, some chain hotels could not update housing status in a timely fashion after clients checked out. The system delay was worse in a certain time slot and caused errors in new clients checking in. The business unit was unable to identify the issues and the direct root cause.
Environments: all business applications are supported in Windows environment. The systems have been migrated from local IDC to Microsoft Azure Public Cloud platform. The services include SQL, MySQL, IIS, Redis and other application systems.
Client had hoped to realize an automated unmanned operation for all services and systems.
Solution
Ubertal Ovela AIOps platform was deployed to control server resources, middleware services, and business application systems. Ubertal Ovela AIOps provides real-time monitoring for all metrics and logs, performance metrics and log analysis, smart alerts, health status forecasting and error correlation analysis.
Benefits
Via Ubertal Ovela AIOps real time monitoring, the client was able to automatically detect the metric errors. With the help of the AI algorithm and multi metrics correlation analysis, the client was able to determine that the response slow-down was caused by an abnormal surge in memory in a certain time slot. After the engineers solved the memory resource issue, the slow system response time was resolved.
Customer was satisfied due to the ability to determine root cause and optimize performance.
Conclusion
Ubertal Ovela AIOps platform helped our client find the problem in their business process and locate the root cause in the IT system in real time. Our client was able to fix the problem that they had been unable to resolve for a long time.
