Our client is one of the biggest producers of premium cars and the world’s biggest manufacturer of commercial vehicles with a global reach. In 2012, the Group sold 2.2 million vehicles and employed a workforce of 275,000 people; revenue totaled €114.3 billion and EBIT amounted to €8.6 billion.

Challenges
The backend server system for its mobile IoT app, used in the manufacturer’s cars controls everything in the car, from air conditioner to navigation systems. The backend systems are running on dedicated machines provided by another major player in automotive industry. This is a new initiative in the company.

Solution
Ubertal’s Ovela AIOps solution provided the following major functions: metrics monitoring, metrics management, business application KPI monitoring, especially the health status of the invocation to third party service API (like voice control, etc.), log queries and analytics.
Ubertal Ovela AIOps also leverages logs to extract business application metrics to display alerts and help to monitor resource consumption of the public cloud.

We enabled and ensured the non-stop service of these mission critical systems. Our client has a clear picture of their cost through cost forecasting. We also use correlation algorithms and the Root Cause Analysis module to narrow down to the root cause of the problem to quickly identify and address the issues.
